Operations Support Officer

The role

As part of our Maritime group, the Operations Support Officer will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the Maritime business of Saab Australia. The role has two main components: firstly, to ensure that day-to-day operations are executed in a timely manner and, secondly, to work on initiatives to improve operational efficiency of the business.  

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, develop, drive and implement business improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the Maritime business, including:
    • Assist in financial management of overhead expenses
    • Assist in quarterly financial planning and forecasting processes
    • Manage resource planning for the Maritime business
    • Produce reports for presentation to executive management
    • Liaise with corporate departments that support the Maritime business to ensure Maritime priorities are clear and agreed.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • A background in business analysis, or an aspiring project manager with some grounding in business finances
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with financial statements and project accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in operations support or administration (advantageous)

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to apply for and once obtained, maintain an NV1 clearance.
